This project is sooo easy, you won't believe it!
I began with Silver and Gold paper. I purchased some heavier-than-normal 12"x12" paper from the scrapbooking store in silver and gold. I also purchased a white vellum paper with delicate stars embossed on it.
You must cut the paper into 6 equal squares. I chose to vary the sizes of my snowflakes, so I began with squares from 4" up to 6", as long as each snowflake begins with 6 equal size sqaures.
This is where I give credit where credit is due. I followed the fabulous tutorial from Attempting To Be Domestic. For specific instructions, follow her easy tutorial and you will have your own snowflakes in no time.
Through a series of easy folds and cuts, each square will end up looking like this:
You then follow the rest of the tutorial, and you end up with intricate, exquisite snowflakes.
My family couldn't believe that I made them myself! I first made a test one with computer paper and scotch tape. I then switched to the scrapbooking paper and hot glue for the others. It is a bit more time consuming with the glue gun, but it kept my hands busy while catching up on my favorite tv shows like How I Met Your Mother and The Office.
Next, I will hang my snowflakes with some clear fishing line. I'll be back soon to show you where they find a home.
Let me know if you try this. It really is "amazingly easy". Check out the step-by-step tutorial. Seeing is believing!
